Amrapali directors put under police surveillance for 15 days



   The Supreme Court on October 11 put three directors of Amrapali Group-Anil Kumar Sahrma, Shiv Priya and Ajay Kumar under police surveillance for 15 days.

   The directors will be kept under police surveillance for 15 days during which the financial documents of the company will be catalogued by the forensic auditors Pawan Kumar Aggarwal and Ravi Bhatia.

   A bench of justices U U Lalit and D Y Chandrachud directed the three directors to report at Sector 62 police station in Noida from where they will be taken to company’s sealed premises for the cataloguing of the documents.

   On October 10, the apex court ordered the Superintendents of Police to seal nine premises of Amrapali Group situated in Noida, Greater Noida, Buxar and Rajgir. The order came after the company failed to deliver the financial documents from 2008-2015 and 2015-18.

   The sealed premises will be open from 8 am-6 pm.

   The court also requested statutory auditors and ex-CFOs to assist in the cataloguing of the documents. The forensic auditors have been ordered to give guidelines as to how the documents must be organised.

   The SC also issued a contempt notice to the three directors for defying the court orders. The directors have to reply by 20th November 2018.

   The matter will be heard next on October 24.
